I have been inspired by forests and wildlife from an early age, growing up at the edge of the forests of Snežnik, a stone’s throw from Snežnik Castle, which has been the centre of hunting and forestry in the Notranjska Region for centuries.
In my free time, I used to observe wild animals, learn their habits, and study their tracks. Encounters with brown bears, which are very common in the forests of the Notranjska and Kočevska Regions, left a lasting impression on me. In 2008, I met two renowned Italian photographers, Christian Patrick Ricci and Fabio Liverani, and spent unforgettable days with them in the wilderness of the Notranjska Region. That was when I became passionate about wildlife photography experiences and the concept of bear photography hides. I also gained experience in nature tourism in two key regions for wildlife photography – Finland and Slovakia.
Since 2014, Slovenianbears.com has been organizing bear photography experiences in cooperation with a network of hides operated by local partners. These experiences provide access to brown bears and other forest animals in suitable photographic conditions, with a strong emphasis on a responsible and ethical approach towards nature and wildlife.
Slovenianbears.com acts as an organizer and intermediary and does not own or operate photography hides. All photo sessions are carried out by authorized local providers.
I cooperate with renowned European nature photographers, such as Dionys Moser (CH), Marc Graf (AT), Christine Sonvilla (AT), Robert Haasmann (AT), Teddy Bracard (FR), Joachim Griesinger (DE), and others.
