I have been inspired by forests and wildlife from an early age, growing up at the edge of the forests of Snežnik, a stone’s throw from Snežnik Castle, which has been the centre of hunting and forestry in the Notranjska Region for centuries.
In my free time, I used to secretly watch wild animals, got to know their habits, and learned to read their traces. Encounters with brown bears, which are very common in the forests of the Notranjska and Kočevska Regions, left a special mark on me. In 2008, I met two renowned Italian photographers, Christian Patrick Ricci and Fabio Liverani, and spent some unforgettable days with them in the wilderness of the Notranjska Region. That was when I became enthusiastic about photo hunts and about the idea of bear photo hides. I also gained experience in nature tourism in two cradles of photo hunts – Finland and Slovakia.
In 2014, I established a network of photo hides under the Slovenianbears.com trademark, which allows you to take photos of the brown bear and other forest animals in ideal photographing conditions, with an emphasis on a responsible and ethical attitude towards nature and wildlife.
I cooperate with renowned European nature photographers, such as Dionys Moser (CH), Marc Graf (AT), Christine Sonvilla (AT), Robert Haasmann (AT), Teddy Bracard (FR), Joachim Griesinger (DE), etc.
